Greenspan Technology manufactures a range of systems for monitoring water quality. EMCSI developed a compliance model that allowed full assessment of all their products using four basic configurations, thus significantly reducing EMC testing costs. |
|
When Applied Climate Agencies wanted to import a range of domestic and commercial heat pumps they contacted EMCSI who undertook the compliance assessment including EMC, electrical safety and energy efficiency. |

EMCSI undertakes assessments for C Tick marking covering Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) and Radio-communications. Our assessments and testing covers machinery, laboratory equipment, LIPDs (Low Interference Potential Devices: a class of radio transmitters) and a broad range of electronic and electrical products. We also prepare all the necessary compliance documentation, apply for the use of the C Tick Mark and if requested we can hold and maintain the compliance folder. Note that the ACMA plans to begin the phase out of the C Tick Mark to be replaced by the Regulatory Compliance Mark beginning 2012. The RCM can currently be used to show compliance with both EMC and electrical safety requirements.

What is the C-Tick Mark? To deal with the problem of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), the Australian Federal Government introduced the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) framework to protect Australia’s radiofrequency spectrum by introducing technical limits for radio frequency emissions from electrical/electronic products under the Radiocommunications Act. Suppliers (manufacturers and importers) of these products must demonstrate compliance with the standards as set out in the applicable notice of the Australian Communication and Media Authority, prepare a compliance folder, sign a Declaration of Conformity and apply the C Tick mark to their products.
The applicable standards may be AS/NZS, EN, IEC or CISPR standards. EMCSI can review the EMC reports you may have (such as CE reports), undertake any additional assessment including testing and prepare the compliance folder and Declaration of Conformity.
The applicability of the C Tick mark was expanded to include certain classes of radio transmitters. In these cases the applicable AS/NZS standards address the allowed limits of transmitters including frequency of operation, power and human exposure to EM fields. |
