Australia has mandatory requirements for the evaluation, registration and labelling of appliances and equipment for their energy efficiency.  Our governments have implemented regulations to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse emissions from household appliances and equipment, and commercial and industrial equipment.

 

The Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) Regulations are mandated by state governments with the technical requirements set out in relevant applicable standards.

 

It is mandatory for the following products manufactured in or imported into Australia to meet the MEPS levels specified in the relevant Australian Standards:

Incandescent lamps   Linear florescent  lamps   Commercial Refrigeration
